PBT is the latest and fastest-growing variety of general engineering plastics. The reason why it has become a rising star of engineering plastics is that it has excellent comprehensive performance, good molding processability and cost performance. PBT has excellent mechanical properties, high mechanical strength, good fatigue resistance and dimensional stability, and small creep. These properties also rarely change under high temperature conditions and are very suitable for manufacturing gearboxes in automotive parts. The gearbox has high requirements on the chemical resistance, dimensional stability and temperature resistance of the materials . Generally, oil- and temperature-resistant PBT is selected to add special flat glass fiber to ensure dimensional stability. PBT has excellent electrical properties, high volume resistivity and dielectric strength, excellent arc resistance, and extremely low hygroscopicity. It can also maintain stable electrical performance in humid and high temperature environments, making it an ideal material for manufacturing electronic and electrical parts.
